The Mississippi State Department of Health, the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services, and the South Central Center for Public Health Preparedness (SCCPHP) are partnering to plan and host a conference that focuses on the needs of people with disabilities before, during, and after emergencies. The purpose of this conference is to discuss emergency preparedness issues specifically related to people with disabilities. In addition to raising awareness to the special needs of these specific populations during and after emergencies, the conference will focus on emergency and disaster planning at the individual, family, and agency levels.
